Charles L. "Chuck" Morgan, Jr. is a North Carolina State
Bar Board Certified Specialist in criminal law. He handles both state and federal
cases, both at the trial and appellate levels. He is a past director of the National
Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and continues to be active in its committee
structure. He is also active in the criminal law section of the North Carolina Academy
of Trial Lawyers. He is a former council member of the Criminal Justice Section of
the North Carolina Bar Association, and has served for several years as chairman
of its Ethics Committee. As founding reorganizational President of the Mecklenburg
County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, a position which he held for five years,
he was instrumental in securing its affiliation with NACDL.

- USA v. Bernard Bailey - set Fourth Circuit standard for determination
of restitution in white-collar fraud cases.
- State v. David Eggert - established standard for admissibility of "admissions
against penal interest"
- USA v. Larry Young - first post - Dunnagan case re: enhancement
for "obstruction of justice by establishing that a stun gun is not a deadly
weapon for enhancement purposes.
